Founded in 2016, we understand the needs of the Oil and Gas industry surrounding the Permian Basin. With over 50 years of combined experience in the Oil and Gas industry we saw an immediate need for safety and environmental solutions during Frac operations. With the expanding operations and tempo for many companies we are able to provide these innovative ideas with comparable pricing.

Jerry Bates
CEO
Jerry graduated from Permian High school and went straight to work in the paint business. He spent 20 years in the industry with roles that varied from entry level to regional sales manager. In 1989 he started his first business and since then he has not looked back. Some of the companies’ he started such a Odessa Auto Paint helped him develop and branch into larger businesses. Jerry has also served as Vice President of Sales at Titan Liner. Jerry runs Amerus as a family company, values he learned from working for family in his past. Jerry and his wife Kim live in Midland, Texas where you can find them spending time with any of their 8 grandchildren.
Bryce Williams
Vice President
Bryce graduated from Greenwood High School then attended Abilene Christian University to earn a Bachelor’s of Science. Bryce joined the Amerus Team in early 2019. He had been with Blue Quail Energy Services for the previous six years as an Account Manager turned Vice President of Business Development. Prior to Blue Quail, Bryce was with Patterson-UTI Drilling as a Contracts Manager, and a teacher/coach at Abell Junior High (part of the Midland Lee System). Bryce and his wife, Paige, have three children: Major (8), Graham (5), and Birdie (2) who all attend Midland Christian School.
Chuck Buzan
Business Development
Chuck Buzan joined Amerus in 2016 and set the stage for growth of company sales. Mr.Buzan has over 40 years of experience in sales and sales management. His previous employers include Gensco Pipe and Steel VP of Sales, Eppsco Oilfield VP of Sales, Houston Cellular Telephone Company Director of Sales, and Nextel Communications General Manager. Mr.Buzan holds a BA degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. Chuck has two grown children, and he and his wife reside in Austin, Texas.
Taryn Kuykendall
Human Resources and Operations Controller
Taryn graduated from Midland Lee in 2007, then attended Midland College earning an associates degree in Business. Taryn’s previous employer was Weatherford, where she became the administrative supervisor in the directional drilling department turned Materials Coordinator within Procurement. She joined Amerus in January 2017 as the Human Resources and Operations Controller. Taryn and her husband Kevin have two daughters and live in Midland.
